Montpellier Transports is an independent app for exploring the public transport network around Montpellier: map, lines, stops, next departures, disruptions, routes, car parks and Vélomagg stations.
It brings together useful information in an interface designed for everyday travel.
Yes. The app is free and ad-free.
However, its operation has a cost: servers, developer accounts, maintenance and real-time data processing. Anyone who wishes to can support the project from Profile > Support me.
No. Montpellier Transports is an independent project, with no commercial affiliation with TaM or liO.
The application uses and transforms open data published by operators and local authorities. For a subscription, a complaint or an official decision concerning the network, you must contact the operator concerned directly.
The application covers TaM trams, buses and busrams, as well as liO lines that have at least one connection with a TaM stop.
It also displays the Vélomagg stations and several car parks, including the P+Tram. Real-time availability depends on the data provided for each network and service.
Montpellier Transports is available on iPhone and Android.
The interface can be used in French, English, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese and German. The language is changed from Profile > Language.

Quickly find a location, follow the network and find your usual routes.
The search allows you to find stops, lines, addresses, places, Vélomagg stations and car parks.
Enter at least two characters, then select a result to display it on the map or use it in a route.
From Home, choose Use my location in the Nearby Stops section. You can also tap the location button on the map.
The app asks for permission only when you use a function that requires it. If you refuse, manual search remains available.
The map and data are designed for the Montpellier network. If your location is very far from the covered area, the app keeps Montpellier as the main area instead of moving the map to a location without useful transportation data.
You can save lines, stops, addresses, routes, Vélomagg stations and car parks.
Use the star on the corresponding card. The most useful favorites are then grouped together on the home page.
Favorites associated with your account are synchronized with the server. By reconnecting with the same account, you can find them on another device.
Check your internet connection if a recent change does not appear yet.
For Vélomagg stations, the application can display the number of available bikes, available docks and the status of the station.
For compatible car parks, it displays the available spaces and the status of the car park. These values depend on the stream provided and may be temporarily unavailable.
Partially. Some static data already downloaded may remain available, but the full map, search, routes, disruptions and real-time information require a connection.
Montpellier Transports therefore does not yet offer a real offline mode.
Prepare a trip, compare proposals and understand the results.
Yes. Open the Itinerary tab, choose a departure and arrival, then start the search.
The suggested routes combine walking, buses, trams and connections available in TaM and liO data.
You can choose a stop, an address, a place found by search or your current location.
The reversal button allows you to quickly swap start and finish.
Yes. You can request to depart at a specific date and time, or to arrive before the chosen time.
Searching in the app allows planning up to approximately 31 days in advance, provided schedules have been published by operators.
Yes. In the route form, the transport filter offers All, Tram only or Bus only.
A stricter filter can greatly reduce the number of results, especially for trips that require a connection between several modes.
Each proposal indicates timetables, estimated duration, lines taken, connections and walking portions. The detail presents the different segments and stops of the journey on the map.
An estimate of CO₂ emissions is also displayed for information purposes; it is not an exact measurement of the vehicle used.
The Start button keeps the trip as the current route and makes it quickly accessible from Home.
This function helps to find the route while traveling, but it does not yet replace step-by-step GPS guidance. Starting another route replaces the current route.
Try another time, remove the tram or bus filter, check the spelling of the location and select a specific result in the search.
A lack of results can also come from unpublished timetables, a trip outside the covered area or a temporary interruption of the route service.
Know where information comes from and how to interpret its reliability.
Depending on the available data, Montpellier Transports displays next departures, vehicle positions, service disruptions, Vélomagg availability and availability in certain car parks.
Real-time information is not guaranteed for every line, journey or service.
Real time means that the information has been adjusted from the available instantaneous feed. Planned timetable corresponds to the theoretical schedule published in advance.
If the actual time is missing or becomes too old, the application can revert to the theoretical schedule rather than displaying a misleading estimate.
When a position feed is available, vehicles on a line can appear on its path. Their position is indicative: transmission may be spaced out, delayed or temporarily interrupted.
The Lines tab allows you to display all the lines or only those that are disturbed. A line’s details specifies its status when the information is available: normal traffic, disrupted, interrupted or unknown status.
For an official or urgent instruction, also check the operator's channels.
Yes. From the stop file, open the theoretical timetables to consult today, tomorrow or choose another available date.
Depending on the line, the application can present precise departures or frequency ranges.
The data comes mainly from Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole and the Occitanie Region, then is grouped and transformed by Montpellier Transports. The map and routes also use OpenStreetMap, and the address search is based on the National Address Database.
A late source stream, an untracked service, a recent modification or a network interruption can therefore create a gap. You can report the information from Profile > Feedback indicating the line, stop, time and a screenshot if possible.
Manage your connection, your synchronized data and the appearance of the application.
An account is currently required to access the application's services and find the functions linked to your profile, such as favorites and the history of feedback exchanges.
Appearance preferences remain saved locally on the device.
You can use email address and password, Google, or Apple on iPhone.
Use the same method as when creating the account. If an address is already linked to Google or Apple, the application redirects you to the corresponding method.
Verification confirms that the address belongs to you and activates the account created by email. Open the link received in your email; the application will then try to automatically complete the connection.
If the link is invalid or expired, return to the sign-in screen to request a new email.
From the login screen, choose Forgot your password?, enter your email address then open the link received.
If the account only uses Google or Apple, reconnect with that provider rather than asking for a Montpellier Transports password.
First check that you used the same account and address as before. A Google, Apple, and email login may correspond to different accounts if the addresses are not the same.
Then make sure the device is connected to the internet. If the problem persists, send feedback specifying the old connection method, without ever transmitting your password.
Open Profile > My Account. You can change your first and last name there. Accounts created by email can also change their address or request a password reset.
For a Google or Apple account, certain connection information remains managed by the provider concerned.
In the app, open Profile > My Account > Delete My Account. A page summarizes the consequences before confirmation.
Deletion is immediate and irreversible: the account and the personal data associated with it are deleted, then the application logs you out.
Understand what the independent application can and cannot handle.
No, not currently. The integration of a nominative pass requires official access to ticketing systems and an agreement with the operator. Montpellier Transports does not have this integration.
Use the official TaM services to create, activate or present your free Pass.
No. Montpellier Transports provides information on travel but does not sell or validate any transport tickets.
Sales, validation and control require formal integration with the operator's systems. Use the app, website or official outlets of the relevant network.
Commercial offers may change and depend on your situation. Consult the official information from TaM or liO directly for prices, subscriptions, eligibility documents, free-fare conditions and required documents.
No. Montpellier Transports has no access to passenger files, payments or lost property of operators.
For a fine, direct debit, refund, subscription or lost item, contact the customer service of the network concerned directly.

In the application, the Profile > Feedback path also helps you distinguish an application problem from a TaM or liO problem.
Know the accessibility limitations and how data is used.
No, not at this stage. The application does not yet offer an accessibility filter capable of guaranteeing the complete accessibility of a journey, a vehicle, a platform and each connection.
To prepare for an accessible trip, check the operator's official information and possible equipment disruptions. Do not rely solely on the current route calculation.
The interface is developed to support accessible labels, screen readers, system text sizes, and readable contrast. This support continues to be improved and may still have flaws.
If an action is difficult or impossible with assistive technology, report precisely the screen and device used from Profile > Feedback.
The position is used to center the map, display nearby stops and choose My location in a route. Foreground permission is requested the moment you use any of these functions.
You can refuse it and continue with a manual search. Details on data processing are available in the privacy policy.
To manage the account, Montpellier Transports uses in particular your email address, your first name, your last name, your sign-in methods and data linked to connected functions such as favorites or feedback. Limited technical and usage information is also used to secure and improve the service.
The password for an email account is stored in hashed form and is not readable. The detailed list, purposes and your rights appear in the privacy policy and the Terms of Use.
Personal data is not sold and is not used for advertising targeting. The main infrastructure is hosted at OVH in France.
You can directly modify or delete several pieces of information from Profile > My Account. For a request for access, rectification, portability, opposition or any other GDPR question, use the contact form.
Report a problem, suggest an improvement and support the project.
Open Profile > Feedback > In-app issue, then choose the report type and describe what happened. You can attach images to show the relevant screen.
If possible, indicate the action performed, the result obtained, the expected result and if the problem recurs.
Create feedback of type Data and specify the line, stop, direction, date and time concerned. A screenshot often helps to find the exact data feed.
If the problem concerns a service that did not run, a passenger complaint or a decision by the operator, also contact TaM or liO directly.
Yes, a report can be sent without an account. It will be useful in diagnosing the problem, but no personal response can be given to you.
With a signed-in account, you can view history, track feedback status, and read responses in the associated conversation.
A display, search, route, favorite or account bug generally concerns Montpellier Transports. A delay experienced, a canceled trip, a fine, a subscription, a payment or a lost item falls under TaM or liO.
The application's Feedback route offers these three destinations to direct you to the right person.
Yes. In Profile > Feedback, choose Suggestion for a feature idea or Translation for text to correct.
Explain the concrete need, the screen concerned and what the improvement would change in your journey: this helps to prioritize requests that are useful to the widest audience.
Montpellier Transports is created and maintained by Louis Raverdy as an independent local project. The project began in high school to respond to a concrete need in the Montpellier network, then received the national prize from the NSI Trophies jury.
